Over seven decades of development, the Canton Fair has achieved remarkable growth. In its early days, the exhibition covered merely 9,600 square meters with 1,200 buyers. Today, it spans 1.55 million square meters and attracts around 310,000 buyers worldwide. Held continuously for 140 sessions, it stands as China’s largest and longest-running international trade fair. As a key barometer of China’s foreign trade, this landmark event highlights technological innovation, artificial intelligence applications and upgraded professional supporting services.
China’s foreign trade figures demonstrate robust momentum in mechanical and electrical product exports. In the first eight months of this year, electromechanical exports accounted for 55% of China’s total exports, an increase of 2.5 percentage points year-on-year. Following this trend, cutting-edge technologies will take center stage at this Canton Fair. Approximately 64% of exhibitors will showcase innovative technologies such as the Industrial Internet and AI. Newly-developed products and green exhibits make up 23.2% and 26% of all displays respectively, both reaching record highs.
Artificial intelligence will also be deeply integrated throughout the exhibition. Organizers have rolled out 22 smart application scenarios and 16 AI-powered services, including full-scene panoramic booth navigation and instant AR booth information lookup.
To boost cross-border business matchmaking, the Canton Fair keeps upgrading trade support services and strengthening engagement with global buyers. Up to now, more than 210,000 overseas buyers have completed pre-registration.
